tl;dr – Fans of the Four Seasons brand will have a new property easily accessible from the U.S. mainland.
Last year, we learned that the St. Regis Bahia Beach would leave the Marriott portfolio and become the Four Seasons Puerto Rico, with a debut scheduled for sometime in 2025. We now have a definitive update on the timing as the property will open its doors on November 20, 2025. Reservations are already open – let’s dive in.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico
Located just under an hour from the heart of San Juan, and “nestled on the island’s northeastern coast between the towns of Río Grande and Luquillo, the beachfront Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico forms the heart of the Bahía community.” If you’re the type who craves that sweet spot between refined luxury and immersion in nature, then you should take note that the property is “one of only a few resorts worldwide – and the only resort in the Caribbean – designated as a Certified Platinum Audubon International Signature Sanctuary.”

“Of the property’s 483 acres, over 65% are considered sanctuary areas, including forests, marshes, freshwater lakes, a sandy beach, and coral reefs. The reserve is home to over 240 unique species of flora and fauna, including the endangered leatherback turtle and Caribbean manatee.”
For accommodations, guests can choose from oceanfront guest rooms and garden rooms (with or without balconies), suites, and villas which compromise the 139-key property’s offerings.

There are 10 (lol) restaurants and bars onsite: Paros Restaurant (Greek & Mediterranean), Seagrapes Restaurant (Poolside Al Fresco), Sushi Bar (Japanese), Turtle’s Nest (Beach Bar), Sand Dollar (Beachside Grill), The Boathouse (Lakeside Snacks), Beach Club Restaurant (Clubhouse Casual), Sugar Beach Bar (Beach Hangout), El Cocoteros Grill (Golf Bar & Grill), Lobby Lounge (A Taste of Puerto Rico). And of course, there’s 24-hour in-room dining.

There’s no shortage of activities on site. From watersports like kayaking, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wingsurfing (you’re welcome), skimboarding, and paddleboarding, to beach volleyball and golf (a par-72 Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed course awaits you). There’s also a state of the art fitness center. Trust, you’ll have your pick of things to get into.

Other unique experiences include moonlight bioluminescence experiences, excursions to El Yunque National Forest, and nature tours at the Puerto Rico Nature Center.

Guests can also cool off at one of the resort’s two pools…

…Or relax at the luxurious spa that offers set and couture offerings.

Opening rates for a base-level room are in line with Four Seasons pricing elsewhere – I saw a pre-tax rate of $1589.

Funny enough, the property is still operating as the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort presently, as it looks like the last day you can book this property through Marriott is November 3, 2025.

I imagine the property will close for 2.5 weeks and go through the transformation chamber, emerging as the Four Seasons, in a Stephen-to-Stephon fashion.

Admittedly, it’s not the same date, but I can’t help but notice that the approximate difference between the St. Regis brand and that famed world-class service of the Four Seasons (in this hyper-local example) is about $400. Interesante!
