238-Room Conrad Hamburg Set for ‘Early’ October Debut – Should Set a New Standard for Luxury in the City

Tl;dr – We’ll see the long-awaited debut of the luxury hotel in mid-October 2025.

Earlier this week, I wrote about a new Waldorf Astoria coming to Finland. Well, Hilton’s also making moves on the other side of the Baltic, in Hamburg, Germany. The Conrad Hamburg is now open for reservations as early as October 13, 2025. Although the debut date of this hotel has shifted a few times – it was initially expected to come to market in 2024 and was last marked for an opening in November 2025 – arriving a few weeks earlier is a small victory. Notably, this property is a reflag of the Park Hyatt Hamburg after the hotel’s owners declined to renew their contract with Hyatt in favor of shacking up with Hilton. The property then shut down in 2022 to undergo renovations in preparation for its debut in the Hilton portfolio. We’re now nearly at the date. Let’s dive in.

The Conrad Hamburg

The 238-room hotel features 25 spacious suites and 32 residential suites and is housed in the historic Levantehaus building, located on one of Europe’s most popular shopping boulevards, the Mönckebergstraße.

Centrally located, the hotel sits steps away from the city’s many transportation links, landmarks, and attractions, such as the Speicherstadt—the largest warehouse district in the world, where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations, in this case made of oak logs.

For history buffs who like their fun facts, the hotel is “an impressive ‘Kontorhaus”, or commercial building that dates back to 1912, one of around 250 Kontorhäuser that survived World War II. The district was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.”

Dining options include the hotel’s flagship restaurant, GRETA OTO, which promises to be ‘a celebration of Latin American flavors in the heart of the city.’ You’ll also find the GRETA OTO Bar for drinks and merry times.

As for amenities, the property features a state-of-the-art gym and a fun 20-meter indoor pool.

Although it doesn’t appear to have much shine on the property’s website, there’s also a 1,000 m² (10,764 sq ft) luxury spa that features a sauna, steam bath, and a comprehensive selection of treatments.

The Conrad Hamburg has a shot to climb to the top of the city’s luxury scene. A replacement for the defunct Park Hyatt, Hamburg’s other luxury options include The Fontenay (home to a two-star Michelin restaurant, Lakeside), the Grand Elysée Hotel, and for points hotels, the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and the Hotel Atlantic Hamburg, Autograph Collection.
