Tl;dr – We’ll see if this LXR Hotel opens before the year is out!
Earlier today, I wrote about Hilton expanding its top-tier luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria, to Morocco’s Rabat area. Hilton has chosen another leading Moroccan city, Casablanca, for the debut of its LXR Hotels & Resorts brand in the country.
Details of this property are sparse, and while Hilton projected a 2025 opening for this project, I’m not sure that it’s still tracking. Whereas the Waldorf Astoria property, at a minimum, has a presence on the Hilton site, the LXR Hotel doesn’t have a page, and there aren’t many updates on the property’s status to be found online.
The future property will be part of a larger development, The Metropolitan Casablanca. That project’s website itself isn’t super detailed, but it does reference the LXR Hotel.
Here’s what we do know:
The LXR Hotels & Resorts Casablanca will feature ‘148 guest rooms and suites.
There will be three signature restaurants, and a stunning rooftop venue, as well as a wellness spa, outdoor pool, in addition to dynamic meeting and multifunctional spaces.’
Nearby and or possibly in the same Metropolitan development, Hilton will play the ‘soft-brand game’ when it debuts the 63-room Curio Collection by Hilton – Casablanca, expected in 2026.
