Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort Gets the Evermore Treatment

Tl;dr: A popular family-friendly resort in San Antonio – the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort – will soon debut a new giant swimming pool.

Yesterday, I wrote about a promising development – Hilton Honors members seeking to book a stay at the Evermore Orlando can now utilize Free Night Certificates at the property. Today, Hyatt fans get the goods. My San Antonio reports that Crystal Lagoons, the team behind Evermore Orlando’s 8 acres of crystal clear beauty, has been busy in San Antonio, constructing a 2.2-acre crystal swimming pool to serve as the new jewel of the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort. The two resorts have some definitive similarities as they both nail the whole ‘why-be-a-resort-next-to-a-major-theme-park-when-you-can-just-be-a-theme-park-yourself’ vibe. Whereas the Evermore Orlando sits adjacent to Walt Disney World, The Hyatt Regency Hill Country is next door to SeaWorld.

Slated for a September opening, the massive crystal lagoon will also feature white sandy beaches, cabanas, and water sports activities. I wouldn’t be surprised if concerts are held here, as the development will also include an ample poolside event space, currently earmarked for weddings and private events. Already in existence are the resort’s traditional pools, water slide, lazy river, surf experience, hiking trails, spa, fitness center, and 27-hole golf course.

This effort is part of a larger renovation project to the San Antonio property. Five new villas are coming online in May, adding to the resort’s impressive lodging capacity. The property has been on a continual ‘glow-up’ over the last few years. Dating back to 2023, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country has seen a good deal of upscaling. A refurbishing of all its rooms and suites was completed in 2023, and last year, the resort overhauled its dining options. In 2025, amenities and entertainment will take the focus.

In case you’re wondering, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort is a Category 5 property, costing 20,000 points per night. Cash rates range typically range between $230 and $340.
