Aman is Reopening Its Luxury Italian Ski Resort with One Notable Missing Feature

Source: Aman Resorts

Tl;dr – Aman Rosa Alpina reopens this summer after nearly two years of renovations.

In July of 2025, we’ll see the reopening of the Rosa Alpina, an 85-year-old property in San Cassiano, Italy, that became part of Aman Hotels in 2020. Beloved for its charm, the family-run Hotel Rosa Alpina has been run by the Pizzinini family for years. Though the Pizzinini family entered into a partnership with Aman, they are still in the picture and will continue leading operations onsite. Let’s dive into the details.

Aman Rosa Alpina

Located in the Italian Dolomites, the Aman Rosa Alpina adheres to the Aman small resort vibe, as it’s only a 51-room affair. The renovations have added two suites – the space that was formerly the Chalet Zeno has been converted into these two new rooms.

The resort offers a ‘ski butler service,’ and there’s a dedicated Ski Room where you can both rent equipment and slip into some warm anchors courtesy of the heated boot rack.

Elsewhere, guests can enjoy three private cinemas for entertainment during downtime. For families, there’s also a children’s playroom, a teen lounge area, and even an adult games room. Perhaps the crown jewel of the renovation is the brand-new Aman spa—a comprehensive wellness facility featuring an outdoor infinity pool, indoor pools with designated sections for adults and families, hydrotherapy pools, and a fitness center.

Details are currently sparse as to the specifics of the dining options. We do know that there will be an ‘Italian grill’ and a Japanese concept that should be ready in time for ski season. There will also be a cigar lounge and a private wine library.

Reservations for the Aman Rosa Alpina are now open from July 25, 2025, until October 12, 2025, and then again for the 2025-26 winter season (beginning December 4, 2025). Rates are, as you might imagine, ‘up there’ but not nearly as high as I expected. Opening summer rates are flat for the first weeks at €1768 per night. Rates get as high as €2500 during ski season but there are several nights available for as low as €1218.

Ok, What’s Missing?

Oh, nothing major. Just a 3-star Michelin Restaurant. Fans of coursed-Michelin style menus might remember that the Rosa Alpina was home to the famed 3-star restaurant – St. Hubertus. Sadly, the restaurant is not a part of this reopening. That said, chef Norbert Niederkofler has brought his “Cook the Mountain” philosophy to his new concept – Atelier Moessmer – to nearby (about 50 minutes away) Brunico, so perhaps you can enjoy a scenic mountain drive on your way to a standout meal.

I have a trip planned in a few weeks that will take me through Northern Italy. This is a bit further north than my current path, but maybe I’ll make a detour – who knows?
