tl;dr – The route will primarily service passengers for the CES convention.

This coming January, American Airlines will restate service between Las Vegas and Tokyo’s Narita Airport for a few weeks.

The route which is operated by a Boeing 777 primarily exists to fill the demand for Las Vegas’s Consumer Electronics Show (“CES”). In 2026, CES is scheduled for January 6–9, 2026. The service between the two cities will operate from January 2 to 11, 2026, with one round trip per day.

If you’re sitting on a stash of Aadvantage miles, there’s decent availability for flights to Tokyo, less so for inbound flights to Las Vegas. A business class redemption fare will run you 115500 miles.
