Tl;dr – The Rimrock Banff, one of the premier Luxury properties near Banff National Park, will join Accor in 2026.
Next year, Accor will welcome the first North American property to its Emblems Collection when Rimrock Banff joins its portfolio. Situated within Bow Valley, the Rimrock Banff is one of the leading luxury properties in the Canadian Rockies.

This is a big get for Accor – between the surrounding scenery and the wealth of activities offered by the property – there’s a lot to be excited about.

As part of the move to Accor, ‘the hotel will temporarily close in October 2025 for a transformative renovation, reopening summer 2026.’ There’s a pop-up banner on Rimrock’s website which says as much.

It’s unclear what the makeup of the post-renovation property will be, but as it stands now, the Rimrock has 333 guestrooms and suites, two restaurants (Primrose and Eden), two lounges (Larkspur and Divas), and a coffee shop.

Notably, the Rimrock won’t be the only luxury points property from Accor in the area. A popular luxury option in Banff (also a points hotel) is the Fairmont Banff Springs.

About 45 minutes northwest of Banff, you’ll find a second Fairmont, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

If you’re flush on Accor points, perhaps from last month’s Bilt transfer bonus, there might be good value in doing a Canadian Rockies tour of these three properties next fall.
I’ve been itching to check out this part of Canada for some time now, so maybe I’ll pencil this in for October of next year for the grand (re)opening.
