tl;dr – Hyatt starts the year off with a bang, more than doubling its Vietnamese footprint.
Last year, I wrote about Hyatt’s new brand, Unscripted’ and how it was another solid move from Hyatt’s leadership to help the chain grow in the lifestyle segment. Hyatt has just removed the wrapping paper from the Unscripted brand, announcing the addition of six Vietnamese properties (a seventh will debut later), all from Vietnam-based Wink Hotels.
Wink, which coins itself “Lifestyle & Boutique Hotels in Top Cities,” operates six hotels across Ho Chi Minh City, Danang (2), Can Tho, Hai Phong, and Tuy Hoa. The seventh property will debut in Hanoi later this year.

In total, “the combined seven Wink properties represent more than 2,000 rooms across Vietnam’s key destinations, from the country’s largest cities to emerging coastal and cultural hubs.”

Notably, this move takes Hyatt’s Vietnamese footprint from four properties to 10 (11 once the seventh Wink Hotel comes online).

As I mentioned when I first covered Unscripted (as if the name doesn’t point directly to it), the Wink properties will continue to operate much as they do, much like traditional soft brand independent properties do.
Surprisingly, Wink is only five years old – the brand’s first property, the Wink Saigon Centre, opened in 2021.

This is a pretty interesting start to the year for Hyatt. Vietnam, for many travelers, is a beloved destination, and while Hyatt has plans to add multiple Park Hyatt hotels in Vietnam, starting with the Park Hyatt Phu Quoc early this year and continuing with the Park Hyatt Quang Hanh and Park Hyatt Cat Ba Island later on, to date, haven’t been many options that fit the ‘lifestyle’ traveler. This link-up with Wink Hotels is just that.
Some of the hotels are already live on Hyatt. Here’s a look at rates for the Wink Saigon Centre:

I couldn’t find an outright points rate but its a category 1 hotel so off-peak rates can be as low as 3,500 points per night.
