tl;dr – You can now buy, gift, and reinstate Dynasty Miles.

In partnership with Plusgrade, the parent company of Points.com, China Airlines members of China Airlines’ loyalty program can now buy, gift, and reinstate Dynasty Miles.

This development represents a big step forward for the points-and-miles utility of the Dynasty Miles program. The ability to book award fares on the Taiwanese carrier has long been ‘a thing’ due to China Airlines being a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, so partner airlines’ programs, namely Air France/KLM’s Flying Blue, have made China Airlines flights accessible. However, pooling points within China Airlines’ own Dynasty Miles program now becomes a bit easier since you can purchase miles directly.

This move also seems to be part of a strategic push by the carrier to be more ‘competitive’ and more ‘global’. Taiwan is a competitive market as three quality carriers – EVA Air, Starlux, and China Airlines – all call the island home.

China Airlines recently launched a hotel booking platform with Agoda and linked up with Southwest Airlines for an international partnership. The Dynasty Miles loyalty program itself was revamped late last year.
