💡
tl;dr - Marriott launched a promotion for double elite nights, which can help fast-track you to elite status.

Marriott revealed the details for its first big promotion of the year, offering Bonvoy members the opportunity to earn 1,000 bonus points and one bonus Elite Night Credit for each paid night you stay. If you have upcoming Marriott stays or are otherwise hoping to achieve elite status with Marriott in 2025, this could be a good opportunity to take advantage of. Let's dive into the details.

Details of the Promotion

The details of this promotion are pretty straightforward.

  • Register by April 14.
  • Get 1,000 bonus points and one bonus Elite Night Credit each night.
  • Earn the bonuses on stays from February 11 through April 28.

There are 77 eligible nights during the promotional period, meaning you can earn up to 77,000 bonus points (in addition to what you'd usually earn for spending and room rates) and 144 elite nights. You could use this promotion if you're starting from 0 and want to speed up your run to a meaningful elite status with Marriott.

Typically, you need 50 nights for Platinum Elite, 75 for Titanium Elite, and 100 nights (+$23,000 in spend) for Ambassador Elite. You'd need to spend half as many nights for each status during the 77-night period.

The key thing to remember is that you'll receive 1,000 bonus points and one bonus Elite Night Credit each PAID night. In the past, we've seen some Marriott promotions that award bonuses based on any night, which included redemptions, but that's not the case here. You'll need to put down cash for each night, which makes it less attractive.

Is it Worth it?

It depends. I've written about my strategy for elite status in 2025, and it doesn't include chasing anything higher than Platinum Elite status with Marriott. As I receive fifteen nights from my Ritz Carlton credit card and have already completed a five-night stay to get to 20 nights on the year, I'll get to 50 nights without taking advantage of this promotion. Furthermore, if Platinum Elite status is your aim, you can always take out the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant cardholders, which offers complimentary Platinum Elite status to its holders.

That said, if you're aiming for Titanium Elite (or possibly even Ambassador, provided you generate some healthy spending during your stays) and don't think you'll clock 75 nights with Marriott otherwise, it might be worth getting in some nights during the 77-night promotional period, to make your road to those top-tier statuses easier.

Conclusion

Marriott's latest promotion offers double elite nights on all paid stays. This could be a decent opportunity to increase your numbers if you're chasing status this year.
