tl;dr - American Express is back with another transfer bonus, this time with Hilton. You'll receive a 25% bonus when you transfer Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors. This is not a great deal to me since you can likely buy Hilton points at a clip cheap enough to justify holding on your Amex Membership Rewards. That said, it may be a helpful offer if you need only a handful more points to complete a Hilton redemption.

Through March 14, 2025, you'll receive a 25% bonus on American Express Membership Rewards transfers to Hilton Honor. Transfer bonuses, if you're unfamiliar with them, are promotions that incentivize you to exchange one point of currency for another. As one of the most versatile 'bank points,' Amex Membership Rewards can be transferred to 21 programs, 18 airlines, and three hotel loyalty programs. This current transfer bonus with Hilton might be a good deal if you're seeking to top up your Hilton balance for an immediate redemption, but keep in mind that your Amex Membership Rewards can likely go much further through other transfer partners.

It's worth mentioning that Hilton habitually sells points at a bonus throughout the year (in fact they are doing so now), so depending on your situation, it may make sense to purchase Honors Points directly through the Hilton (via points.com) if you only need a handful. As Membership Rewards can be deployed in many different ways, there's a real opportunity cost to transfer them out when there are relatively frictionless alternatives. Dating back to 2019, the best transfer bonus we've seen between Amex and Hilton is 50%, though that happened just once and most recent offers have been between 25 and 40%. Amex and Hilton partner up to offer these transfer bonuses one to two times a year (though they offered three in 2021 likely due to wonky pandemic travel).

How Do You Transfer Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors?

Transferring your Membership Rewards points is simple:

  1. Start by logging into your Amex account at americanexpress.com, then navigate to the Account Home page of one of your credit cards, and click on 'Rewards & Benefits.'

If you're a fan of luxury hotels, you'll find that redeeming points at some of the more upscale properties in Hilton's portfolio can net you significant savings off the cash rate.
