World of Hyatt Bonus Journeys: Earn Double or Triple Points on Stays

Hyatt announced its first promotion of the year, offering bonus rewards points on stays at properties across its portfolio. For stays between January 27 and March 28, 2025, you can earn triple points at Hyatt Place & Hyatt House properties and double points at all other participating Hyatt Brands, including Mr. & Mrs. Smith Hotels. Bonus points? Double Points? Double your pleasure, double your fun. It's the statement of the Great Mint in Doublemint gum.

I'm sorry. Let's discuss the details.
The Deal

The Bonus Journeys promotion requires registration, which you can find here: hyatt.com/bonusjourneys
For the Triple Points Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Offer (valid at locations of the aforementioned Hyatt brands worldwide):
You can earn a maximum of 10,000 Bonus Points
For the Double Points Offer (valid at all other Hyatt brands worldwide)
You can earn a maximum of 20,000 Bonus Points
For both offers, the following terms and conditions apply:
- You must be a member of World of Hyatt in good standing at the time of registration
- Bonus points begin with your first stay.
- This is valid for eligible stays completed after registration and between January 27, 2025, and March 28, 2025.
- âEligible Stayâ is any stay where a member pays an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award.
Two immediate takeaways. Itâs good to see that the bonus for this promotion starts with your first stay, as sometimes Hyatt will begin their promotions with your second eligible stay. Second, itâs cool that points earned on free night award stays count as well. With that said, note that many Hyattâs can be finicky about what qualifies at âspend,â so youâll want to keep a copy of your folio after checkout and confirm with the hotel what charges at their location comprise eligible spend.
My Take on the Bonus Journeys Promotion
Iâm lukewarm on this promotion. Itâs great to see Hyatt offering travelers an opportunity for higher earnings on paid stays, mainly because Iâve long found Hyattâs standard earning rate relatively low. The real gold in the Hyatt loyalty program is elite nights. Getting more elite night credits to hit Milestones faster or achieving Globalist is a better big-picture goal than getting more reward points on your stays. I find myself paying cash rates at Hyattâs more than other properties, mainly because there arenât as many ways to amass a ton of Hyatt points (you can only buy 55,000 a year without factoring in any purchasing bonuses), so my strategy with Hyatt is often to enhance a paid stay with a great certificate like a suite night upgrade, guest of honor certificate, or club upgrade award. If you canât get one of those from another Hyatt member, elite night credits will help you get closer to the milestones or status necessary to earn a few for yourself. With that said, I wouldnât go out of my way to stay at a bunch of Hyattâs for this promotion, but if you have upcoming stays already planned, the additional points will be a nice cherry on top.
