tl;dr – This might be temporary, though, as conservation work is set to continue.
Sitting atop the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Greece’s most iconic monument, is for the first time in decades without scaffolding. Now you can enjoy a picturesque view of the former temple dedicated to the goddess Athena.

According to Culture Minister Lina Mendoni (via the Associated Press), this is “the first time in about 200 years that the Parthenon’s exterior is completely free of any kind of scaffolding on any side.”

Made of white Pentelic marble, throughout the ages, the Parthenon has stood as a symbol of Democracy, and its design has been mimicked by several structures around the world.

If you happen to be in Athens anytime soon, be sure to snap a photo while you can.
