tl;dr – An Atari-themed hotel is opening in Phoenix.

Atari Hotels (did not know this was a thing) recently announced the Atari Hotels Phoenix in partnership with Intersection Development.

Featuring a re-imagined (but in my opinion still very must nostalgic) logo, the hotel will be chock-full of vintage gaming regalia and references. The property’s 19 suites and 72 rooms point to 1972, the year of Atari’s founding.

Here’s a look at the hotel’s teaser video. BTW, there’s some opportunity to own a piece of the debut Atari Hotel – a brick of it:

Guests will be able to enjoy tributes to classic games like Asteroids, Pong, and Nintendo’s Tetris.

Other amenities include a sports book, an esports venue with a 10,000-square-foot sports book, several dining outlets, and a pool. As there will be spots for both retail spaces and a 90,000 square foot event hall, I can easily envision this property becoming a destination for gaming competitions, mini-comic cons, and the like.
