tl;dr – Hilton will seek to uplevel the former Versace-branded property.
Hilton just announced its first LXR Hotels and Resorts property in Oceania, and it’s set to debut in Australia’s Gold Coast in 2027. The Imperial Hotel Gold Coast will join Hilton’s luxury soft brand portfolio.

Up until recently (mid-2023), the Imperial Hotel Gold Coast was known as the Palazzo Versace, licensing the brand of the eponymous fashion house, a theme that may be seeing a resurgence.

The hotel, which is expected to have 200 rooms, will undergo a renovation before reopening under the Hilton umbrella in 2027.

As of now, there are at least two dining outlets at the property, though it’s possible more will be introduced over the next few years. Current amenities include Rolls-Royce car service, multiple pools, a spa called The Beauty Room, and a fitness center. The hotel has a video walkthrough viewable here.
Located near the Marina Mirage ferry terminal, the resort is neighbors with Marriott’s Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast, and not too far away from the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, which could make for a good ‘points-crawl’ stay. There’s also the intriguing Langham Gold Coast about 15 minutes down the beach.

As of this writing, there are 36 LXR Hotels and Resorts properties operating or in the pipeline.
