tl;dr – Both properties are in Mexico.
In Fall 2024, Hyatt closed its acquisition of Standard International Brands, which included sub-brands Standard Hotels, Standard X, and Bunkhouse Hotels. Hyatt kept the three as separate brands within its portfolio. Until recently, all properties in the Bunkhouse portfolio were located in the United States – specifically, Texas. That’s recently changed, as Hyatt has added two new properties to its Bunkhouse portfolio – the Hotel San Fernando and the Hotel San Cristóbal – both of which are in Mexico.
Hotel San Fernando
Located in Mexico City’s La Condesa neighborhood, the Hotel San Fernando is a boutique property with just 19 rooms.

All of the rooms are suites.

Rates start out in the mid $200s and go up from there.

A standard free night appears to be a solid deal at 15,000 points.

Hotel San Cristóbal
The Hotel San Cristóbal is a Category 7 property in Baja, a bit off the beaten path. Notably, the property was honored with a Michelin Key.

In contrast to Cabo, Hotel San Cristóbal is in the sleepier Punta Lobos, further up the western coast of the Baja Peninsula. You won’t find many other properties in the vicinity, though IHG does have the Kimpton Mas Olas Resort and Spa about 20 minutes away.

Cash rates start out in the low $300s.

You can redeem as few as 35,000 World of Hyatt points for a free night.

Conclusion
Bunkhouse is one of Hyatt’s lifestyle brands. It’ll be interesting to see what direction leadership takes this brand, particularly when it comes to differentiating it from the Thompson and Dream brands.
