tl;dr – A new opening for the fast-growing lifestyle brand.

IHG just added a new property to its voco brand – the voco Bangkok Surawong.

Bangkok has an argument for the strongest roster of upscale hotels in the world. Yes, one can always point to the megalopolises of the world – Tokyo, New York, London – but crossroads cities like Bangkok and Istanbul seem to lead the pack in luxury and lifestyle openings, and the diversity of chains is not lacking.

Located in Surawong, a vibrant area in Bangkok’s Bang Rak district, the hotel has “244 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and suites featuring premium organic New Zealand bulk bath amenities from Antipodes.”

There are three onsite dining options, two of which are Tasca Sabio – a spirited Spanish-inspired restaurant and bar, and Deckles Smokehouse – an all-day-dining restaurant that offers Bangkok’s premium hotel smokehouse experience.

The hotel has some solid amenities. Guests can enjoy a “full lap pool set amidst landscaped gardens on the fourth floor, 24-hour fitness center, and an onsen spa.”

Rates are pretty affordable. 22,000 IHG Rewards points are good enough for a one-night redemption, and cash rates flex around 3388 Thai Bhat (~$108 as of today).

Despite only having debuted in 2018, voco already has 117 open hotels with another 108 in the pipeline. This is the first voco property in Thailand.
