tl;dr – One of IHG’s newer brands will soon land in the US.
Last week, I wrote about the Noted Collection – a new conversion brand launched by IHG. Well before the buzz about the Noted Collection made headlines, last year, IHG acquired European chain Ruby Hotels with the aim of increasing its mid-tier upscale offering through a growing soft brand. The global hotelier recently announced its first US-based property for the Ruby brand in Chicago.

Expected to open in 2027, the 412-key property will be located in downtown Chicago, just off the Magnificent Mile. The new hotel will be housed in a historic property – the Inn of Chicago, which is expected to undergo a renovation as part of the deal.

When the hotel opens, guests will be able to enjoy a rooftop terrace and bar, amongst other amenities.

Interestingly, Chicago has been a popular entry-market for a few other new brands from the large hotel chains. Last year, Marriott announced that a Chicago property would be one of the first Series by Marriott hotels in the United States, and one of the very first Outset properties from Hilton will be in Chicago as well.
