Hi! Mrs. Blackbeard here, the Founder of Aetheria Movement – a virtual yoga and movement studio that believes in democratizing fitness and honoring yoga’s roots. Like Mr. Blackbeard, I love to travel. I also love to combine travel with yoga and other movement practices.
This is exactly what Aetheria’s retreats are about – travel with a purpose. Our next retreat, Rewild and Reconnect is happening March 26-29, 2026, in Southern California at a beautiful eco conscious sanctuary in Southern California.

If you love to travel but have never been on a retreat (possibly because they seem too woo-woo or you’re not sure of the point), the succinct description for a retreat is generally a “vacation with a purpose.” More specifically, my co-host and fellow yoga teacher, Sarah Lee, and I look to cultivate a space for you to show up authentically in community. Perhaps you join every activity and all yoga practices, or maybe you join in only what connects with you and spend more time in quiet reflection.
This looks like shared meals and laughter, tears, and shared reflections post-journaling.
It’s not a forced woo-woo space, and it’s not just a space for seasoned yoga practitioners.
Aetheria Retreats are a space where you can come as you are and leave renewed to take on the demands of life – a little more wild and a little more connected is the hope:).
Check out what Sarah Lee, Ph. D. and Andrea Cameron – your retreat co-hosts – have to say about preparing for a retreat with us! If you’ve never been on a retreat before, this is the video for you. Retreats are a way to travel and experience the world while also nourishing yourself – inner work, alone time, community connection, yoga, meditation, and movement, hiking, nature time, 3 daily vegetarian meals, and a 60 minute massage.

If you’re curious about more details, I’ve hit a few areas where folks have questions below:
📍Location: This retreat is located conveniently located within 90 miles of multiple SoCal airports for those flying. For Western US and CA based folks, this spring drive might be a perfect addition to the time at the retreat.
🧘🏽♂️Yoga “Level”: We’ve gotten the question a few times – is this retreat good for beginners? What if I’m not flexible? What if I don’t practice ashtanga or vinyasa? The yoga and other movement at our retreat will be tailored to the group that attends. Sarah and Andrea are expert yoga teachers with nearly 20 years of experience between them. They adapt the practice of the class to those on the mat in the room. This is not an ‘intensive’ or a retreat hyper-focused on getting better at certain postures.
Meals: Three daily meals (vegetarian) are included in the price, cooked by a chef onsite at the retreat center. No need to worry about being hungry or eating nutritious, whole foods to keep you fueled.

Activities: A guided hike, 60 minute private massage, access to the pool and hottub, winery tour and tasting, all yoga, mediation, and other classes led by Aetheria, and live music (a new addition) are included in the price. At the same time, you are welcome to opt out of anything as you desire or need to.

Schedule: We plan our retreats with plenty of together, active time as well as group meditation and reflection, and there is built-in space for free time. We want this to feel nourishing, not like you leave needing another trip to recuperate.
