Tl;dr – Expected to open by the end of the year, the JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent should add to the city’s underrated luxury hotel scene.

Marriott just announced that it will bring its storied JW Marriott brand to an exciting new location later this year – Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent will feature ‘287 elegantly designed rooms and suites’. Plans for the property also include ‘multiple dining experiences, a wellness center, Spa by JW, an Executive Lounge, the brand’s signature JW Garden, and modern conference and event facilities.’

One of the marquee cities of Central Asia, Tashkent is not only beautiful but holds significant historical and cultural significance as a stop on the famed ‘Silk Road.’

As fate would have it, I recently took a look at the hotel scene in Uzbekistan for an upcoming ‘Stans’ trip I’m planning next year. There are some solid properties in Tashkent, headlined by the InterContinental Tashkent, Hilton Tashkent City, Mercure Bukhara Old Town, Swissôtel Tashkent (Opening July 2025), and Hyatt Regency Tashkent

Adding the JW to this mix is all the better.
