Marriott recently announced an increased ‘top-off’ threshold for free night awards. Members can now add up to 25K Bonvoy points to an existing free night award in order to redeem that award for a free night.
I’m a legacy Ritz-Carlton credit card holder, and one of my annual benefits is an 85K Free Night Award. With this new threshold, I can now redeem for a single night that costs as many as 110K Bonvoy Points.
This is reasonably clutch as I’ve found that recent devaluations and increased redemption costs have significantly watered down the value of the 85K Free Night Award (as well as all of Marriott’s Free Night Awards).
