Tl;dr – Hyatt adds to its expansive footprint on the island of Mallorca, and the Balearic Islands generally.
While Hyatt’s investment in all-inclusive resorts has been well documented, another focus area for Hyatt has been expanding in the Spanish Mediterranean. Hyatt recently announced its newest property, the Sarena de Muro Resort Mallorca, an addition to the Destination by Hyatt portfolio.

Located on Playa de Muro, the beachfront Sarena de Muro has 184 guestrooms and suites, some of which offer sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea.

In addition to the beach, there are a two pools as well.

For rest and rejuvenation, guests can retreat to the Sarena Spa, a facility that offers a hydrotherapy area, a thermal zone, and dedicated massage and treatment rooms. There’s also a 24-hour fitness center.

The resort features two dedicated restaurants – Biniterra and Ópalo – as well as the Ópalo Lounge Bar for drinks and the Pool Club for waterside snacks and libations.

Some off-property adventures include visiting the S’Albufera Natural Park, the nearby Cape Formentor—the northernmost point on Mallorca —and the Roman ruins of Pollentia.

Points rates seem to start at 29,000 points per night, and I’ve spotted cash rates in the low $300s.

It’s pretty impressive to see Hyatt’s dominance of the Balearics when it comes to points hotels. Excluding Mr & Mrs Smith Properties, the Sarena de Muro is Hyatt’s 15th property on the Island of Mallorca. That said, it’s only the fifth Hyatt property on the island that isn’t part of the Alua brand. If you add in neighboring islands of Menorca and Ibiza, the Hyatt operates a total of 23 non-Mr & Mrs Smith Properties across the Balearics – that’s quite the investment.
