tl;dr – Service between London Heathrow and St. Louis begins next spring.

Big news for folks based in the Midwest – British Airways has announced a new route connecting St. Louis and London.

According to British Airways, “flights will begin on 19 April 2026 and operate four times per week throughout the summer season.”

Travelers can choose from three cabins – World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business class). I semi-recently flew British Airways Club World business class on a similar route – LHR to New Orleans (MSY) and it was OK. (I was a much bigger fan of BA’s first class product, though that may not come as too much of a surprise.)

Notably, passengers flying in Club World on the St. Louis-London route may also get to enjoy the airline’s latest business class seat, Club Suite (discussed in the MSY link above). Available on selected flights, the Club Suite offering offers “personal space with direct aisle access, a full flat bed and a 17” high-resolution screen for entertainment. The cabin also features a brasserie-style dining experience, with a choice of freshly prepared starters, mains, desserts and cheeses.”

This is a pretty clutch development for travelers who rely on St. Louis’s Lambert International Airport (STL) as there is presently only one route to Europe – a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt. Below, you can see the current destinations from STL according to FlightConnections.

While Lufthansa, a member of the Star Alliance, has great connectivity from its Frankfurt hub, this new British Airways route service brings the oneworld alliance into the fold. British Airways services over 115 destinations from London Heathrow. There’s an entire new world of one-stop destinations for St. Louis residents (and folks in the surrounding area) and that’s not even taking into account multi-carrier itineraries courtesy of other oneworld alliance carriers.

Here’s a look at the timetables for the service:

Also of note for 2026 updates – British Airways will introduce more frequent service to San Diego and Austin, servicing each of those two cities 14 times per week.
