It’s worth mentioning that a few of these dates are a bit suspect, depending on which sources you choose to believe. For example, Delta is listed with a founding date of May 30, 1924, but other sources trace its earliest beginnings to March 2, 1925, when the dusting subsidiary that became a founding component of Delta Air Lines, Huff Daland Dusters, Inc., opened its doors.
