Tl;dr – A new luxury ski resort in Big Sky country will soon open its doors.

This November, we’ll see the debut of the One&Only brand’s newest resort – the One&Only Moonlight Basin, a luxury ski resort in Big Sky, MT. This resort promises a new level of luxury in the Montana Rockies and is already accepting new reservations – let’s dive in.

One&Only Moonlight Basin, Montana

Encompassing 240 acres within the greater Moonlight Basin property, the One&Only resort will have 73 guest rooms and suites in the main lodge, in addition to 19 guest cabins. There will also be 62 private residences.

Activities

The first thing to know about the resort is that it’s an all-year property. Conveniently located just about an hour from Yellowstone, this property makes for an intriguing combo with the famed national park.

Let’s start with the winter sports. Right outside The Landing (see Dining below) is the One&Only’s private gondola providing swift and comfortable ski access to over 5,800 skiable acres at Madison Base.

Guests can enjoy complimentary ski and snowboard valet, and day lockers are available for guests. You can get your equipment turned at the Sky Lodge, which uses the Wintersteiger Jupiter, a fully automated service system for skis and snowboards.

In addition to traditional skiing and snowboarding, guests can also stay busy by fat-tire biking or Nordic skiing across the terrain.

During the summer months, fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking, golf, swimming, and watersports are all at your doorstep.

Dining

For Dining, there will be six outlets, and leading the way is Akira Back – a modern Japanese spot which takes its name from Chef (and ex-snowboarding professional) Akira Back. Other eateries include Wildwood, Dear Josephine, Moon Shack, and the Landing – the resort’s flagship gathering spot for elevated Dining, après-ski, and exceptional events.

Other Amenities

Wellness is a core theme at all One&Only resorts, and Moonlight Basin is no exception. The One&Only spa features a heated open-air pool (indoors and it opens up during the summer months) with great mountain views, a hot tub, and a cold plunge. The state-of-the-art space features seven treatment rooms, sauna and steam facilities, a cutting-edge fitness center, tennis courts, and a beauty lounge.

Rates

Opening rates start at $1216 per night for a base-level room, rising to $3319 during peak powder season. Rates bottom out during the early spring and summer months at $1169.

Conclusion

We’re only a few months away from the One&Only Moonlight Basin’s opening, and the resort looks exciting. As mentioned above, I’m particularly excited about the resort’s proximity to Yellowstone. Hit the comments if you’re planning to reserve a stay here.
