Quick Hack: Use Your Browser's Developer Tools to See Hyatt Promotions You've Registered For

Tl;dr - A browser hack to view the Hyatt promotions you've previously registered for.

Yesterday, I wrote about Hyatt's current promotion at Hyatt Vacation Club properties and how you could get some solid value if you meet the right criteria. While writing this piece, I was reminded that figuring out which Hyatt promotions you've already registered for is deceptively tricky. If you're a Hyatt Globalist, this is less of a concern, as you are automatically registered for any eligible promotions (if you opted into doing so). For all other Hyatt members, the conventional way to figure this out is to search your inbox for an email confirmation that you're registered:

or...

Click the original registration link to locate the first email identifying the promotion. If you've already registered for that promotion, you should see a message indicating that.

However, I stumbled upon a Reddit thread where one savvy user uses the browser tools to confirm registration another way. Courtesy of Reddit user garretg, here are the step-by-step instructions to find the Hyatt promotions you've already registered for:

  1. Visit Hyatt.com, log in to your account, and click 'Account' from the dropdown menu underneath your profile to navigate to the 'Account Overview' page.

  1. Open the Devtools by right-clicking on the page and selecting "Inspect."

Note. If you're using Safari, before you can inspect the page, you'll need to enable the developer features by clicking "Show features for web developers" in Safari's settings.

  1. A developer tools portal should appear on the right side of the page (or at the bottom of the page). From there, click the "Network tab" and reload the page.

  1. You'll see some activity. Once the page settles, sort the elements by "Name." Next, search for 'profile' in this sorted list, click on it, and then switch to the "Response" tab.

From there, you'll see a blob of JSON (some code). What you're looking for is a key titled "RegisteredPromoCodes." The value for this key will be an array containing the codes for the promotions you're registered for. (Note: There's also a key named 'eligiblePromotions.' If there are any values in the array (I didn't have any as I was already automatically registered for any eligible promotions), you'll see them listed here.)

So this is as far as the Reddit tip takes you, as you'll need to be savvy to decipher the codes to match the current promotions. For example, the promotions I'm currently registered for are:

"2K20N35K24", "Q1PROM2025", "HVC3KPRM24", "Q1UNDERPRM", "TLPSS0101C", "TLPSS0101R", "TLPRR0101R", "5BRANDS".

The first one, "2K20N35K24," seems related to the Hyatt Milestone program, as you can earn 2K Next stay, 20 Nights, or 35,000 Base Points. Most folks, if not everyone, have this on their list.

  • "Q1PROM2025" seems to call out the Q1 promotion, Bonus Journeys.
  • "HVC3KPRM24" - is the promotion I wrote about yesterday - Hyatt Vacation Club, 3,000 Bonus Points Per night.
  • "Q1UNDERPRM" - might refer to the Globalist quarterly promotion.
  • "5BRANDS" - is probably the ongoing Brand Explorer promotion where you receive a free night for every five Hyatt brands you stay at.

However, I poked around for a bit and I noticed you can expand the JSON blob by clicking on the down arrows to the side of each element. If you do that you'll get the expanded version which will show a good deal more information, and importantly so more information relating to the registered promotions, including their date of expiration. That can help you more accurately match which promotion the key is referring to.

My Take On This Hack

Ideally, Hyatt should just have a tab in your account profile that shows this. I typically view Hyatt to be the more tech-forward and user-friendly of the 'core four' hotel chains so it's a bit surprising this isn't already a thing. They clearly have the data already there in code; it's just a matter of surfacing it in the UI with a little bit of design work!

Not asking for much.

Conclusion

While the descriptors leave you with some work, you can get an idea of which Hyatt promotions you're registered for by taking your browser's dev tools for a spin. This could be a useful hack if you cannot locate the promotional emails in your inbox. Ok - consider yourself informed!
