Tl;dr – My review of a one-night stay at Wine & Roses Hotel, Spa & Restaurant in Lodi, California.
After our day of wine tasting in Lodi, we stayed one night at Wine & Roses Hotel, Spa & Restaurant before flying out of Sacramento International Airport. The hotel is only a few minute’s drive from the vines – four minutes away from Jessie’s Grove Winery, our final tasting experience of the day, to be exact.

Booking Wine & Roses
When I booked Wine & Roses back in April 2025, it was a fully independent hotel, so I decided to book through AAdvantage Hotels to earn American Airlines Loyalty Points and help with my Executive Platinum status chase. With a quick one-night stay, I was less concerned with room type, particularly since we’d be arriving in the afternoon and departing before 10 AM to fly out of Sacramento. That said, after a partial sale to/investment from boutique chain Appellation Hotels, Wine & Roses will rebrand as Appellation Lodi – Wine & Roses Resort and Spa later in June 2025.
Getting in and the Room
Checking in was pretty straightforward. We pulled up to reception, popped out, and a few seconds later, we were on our way to our room, keys in hand.

Attached to the hotel’s campus, you’ll find the Lodi Wine & Visitors Center.

We were booked for a standard king room that looked out into the hotel’s courtyard.
The room, while simple, had a lovely patio – a perfect place to enjoy coffee, a glass of wine, or snacks.
Our king bed was a comfortable haven for the night, and if you’re after some self-care, there’s a deep tub in the bathroom, spacious enough for two, and some cozy waffle robes in the closet.

Amenities
Although we didn’t have time for a service (or to explore it at all, really), the hotel’s spa, from what I understand, is well-regarded, having been recognized as a top-100 spa in the US. As Wine & Roses hosts many weddings, celebratory events, and weekend getaways, the spa gets a lot of attention.
Their hotel’s fitness center, while a bit rustic, has everything you need to get a good workout.

Additionally, just outside the gym, you’ll find an out which is heated during winter) and a jacuzzi.

Some cool complimentary offerings include a wine happy hour, morning yoga (Saturdays), and mixology classes (Saturdays).

Dining and Service
There are two eateries on site: Maison Lodi, a hybrid cafe market, and Americana House, the full-service restaurant that recently rebranded from the Towne House Restaurant. Unfortunately, given our brief stay, we didn’t have a chance to sample the food from either. Though Americana House is helmed by a new chef, the Towne House did have solid reviews during its run.
Service at the hotel was decent. We didn’t have many interactions to judge off of. We did need to chase a package down after we had left, which was a little bit of an adventure with regard to communication, but I take ownership of that as, in all fairness, it’s not the hotel’s fault that 1) I had a package ship there, 2) it didn’t make it in time for in-person retrieval.
Conclusion
There aren’t a ton of upscale hotels in Lodi, CA, so if you’re searching for a nicer place to stay, there’s a good chance you’ll come across Wine & Roses (soon to be Appellation Lodi). It’s solid, well-located to the vines, and can serve as a good weekend camp for all your Old Vine Zinfandel tasting adventures.
