Tl;dr - As Delta only flies to eight destinations out of New Orleans, I wasn't expecting much production from this Delta Sky Club location. That said, this cozy, simple club is a solid option for quick drop-ins.

After finishing up at The Club MSY, I hustled to the Delta Club MSY to check it out before my first-class flight to Los Angeles. Though it's a small club, the Delta Club MSY is solid if you're looking for a place to post up for a few minutes before your flight. Let's jump into it!

The Club Location, Access Rules, and Getting In

The Club MSY is located in Concourse C of New Orleans's Louis A. Armstrong Airport. After clearing security, you'll want to turn left and walk down the long hallway, passing several restaurants and shops. After you pass by PJ's Coffee, you'll find the entrance to the Delta Sky Club tucked away at the end of the corridor.

The Delta Sky Club at MSY is open daily from 4:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Access rules for Delta Sky Clubs have changed recently, particularly regarding access as a premium credit card benefit, and you can review them here. During my visit, I gained complimentary access to the club via my American Express Business Platinum card.

Lounge Layout, Seating, and Decor

Upon entering the club, you'll need to check in at the front desk. Once your credentials for entry are verified, you can proceed upstairs (via the elevators or staircase) to the club. The club's decorations are very much locally themed—paintings of coffee and beignets, mardi gras-colored fleur delis, and other iconic New Orleans symbols adorn the walls.

When you arrive on the second floor, you'll find a concierge desk to help with travel-related questions. The lounge is one large room, with the bar at one end, the buffet (and dining tables) in the middle, and more lounging-forward seating at the other.

Everything is pretty simple, but the seats are comfortable, and given that there aren't more than four Delta flights departing each hour, you should be able to find a spot to perch.

Dining and Service

All food at the lounge is found at the buffet—there's no a la carte menu. The offerings change daily, and they're very simple but tasty. For sweets, you can expect cold offerings like mini-sandwiches, cold cuts, a salad bar, fruit, cookies, and brownies. On the day of my visit, hot entrees included rice and steamed vegetables, and a Spanish garlic chicken.

The bar offers some solid signature cocktails. It's a full bar offering both complimentary drinks and premium offerings, which you can pay for with cash or Delta SkyMiles.

I didn't interact with much of the staff during my visit, but I found the lounge agent and bartender to be pretty friendly.

Facilities and Amenities

There aren't many amenities at this club. However, there is strong complimentary Wi-Fi, and the bathrooms are clean.

On my visit, many people were watching an NFL playoff game on one of the lounge's four televisions.

Finally, if you need to print or fax anything, there's a combo machine you can use to do both.

Conclusion

The Delta Sky Club MSY is simple and, more than anything else, a reprieve from the busy MSY terminals. Pop in for a solid cocktail and quick bites before you fly out.
