tl;dr – Hyatt loyalists have a new, ‘celebrity-watching’ spot that is right across the street from the beach.
The Georgian Hotel, an oceanfront property in Santa Monica, recently joined Hyatt’s The Unbound Collection and is open for reservations as of March 10, 2026.

Though I haven’t stayed at the property yet, I did, by chance, sit down for some happy hour bites a few weeks ago, prior to departing on a flight from LAX to Papeete (PPT). I was looking for a place to use my Amex Gold Resy dining credit, and it was only upon rolling up to Sirena that I realized it was one of the restaurants at The Georgian Hotel. Given its location and an upscale vibe, this property could be a solid addition to the Hyatt portfolio.
The Georgian has a bit of that old Hollywood vibe, if that’s your thing. From the property’s website: “Since opening its doors in 1933, The Georgian Hotel has stood as a defining landmark of Santa Monica. This oceanfront hotel was once a glamorous retreat for Hollywood legends during cinema’s Golden Age, and has now been refreshed to offer you a beautiful blend of Art Deco elegance, storied heritage, and modern luxury just steps from the Santa Monica Pier and Pacific coastline.”

I’m probably the furthest away from a ‘celeb culture aficionado’ as one can be, but since we’re speaking about “Hollywood legends,” none other than Mr. Mayhem himself, Dean Winters of Allstate commercials, Law and Order: SVU, and HBO’s OZ fame, was walking out the front door of the hotel just as I was opening it. Despite the invite, he declined to sit down with me as I used my Amex Gold Resy Credit on a smashburger and drinks at Sirena.

The burger? It was pretty solid. Simple but tasty and even better with a mojito.

The Georgian has 84 rooms, including 28 one-bedroom suites.

As far as amenities, there’s a fitness center…

and well…the beach across the street.

For dining, there’s the aforementioned Sirena and The Georgian Room.

If you do end up visiting the property, I highly recommend you walk a few blocks over for a slice of pizza at Joe’s Pizza or take advantage of your proximity to the Santa Monica location of Din Tai Fung (the famed Taiwanese dim sum chain). Wash that down with a scoop at McConnell’s.

The Georgian is a category 6 hotel. I peeped a rate in mid April at $492 (advance pay), and you can book a standard king for 25000 points (at least prior to Hyatt’s impending award chart changes). Globalists, don’t forget about points advance!
