tl;dr – Signia might be Hilton’s new mega-Convention brand?

While you are here check out this awesome upcoming retreat from our friends at Aetheria Movement.

Nothing is finalized here yet, but several outlets, including Nashville Business Journals report that Hilton is in talks to bring an 800+ room Signia by Hilton hotel to the Nashville Yards development project in the Music City.

It would be the largest hotel in Nashville.

This news follows Hilton’s announcement of the Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, which was last projected to open in the fall of this year. The Indianapolis Signia will be the tallest (and, in terms of capacity, biggest, I believe) hotel in Indy. As the Indy property is slated to host several conferences and serve as the go-to accommodation spot for visitors attending the city’s sports and entertainment events, one can’t help but wonder if Signia is Hilton’s new ‘big property brand.’

Signia only launched six years ago and globally, there are just six properties (existing and in development). The Atlanta and Disney World properties definitely lean towards ‘big event/convention-y’ property, while the San Jose (California), Amman (Jordan), and spa property in San Antonio (Texas), are harder to pin down.

Nashville, for its part, has seen quite the uptick in hotel development, particularly on the luxury level.

Over the next several years, Nashville will welcome St. Regis, Equinox, Ritz-Carlton, Edition, Pendry, and Nobu properties. The Printing House also recently joined Hilton’s Tapestry Collection.
