Tl;dr – As part of the brand’s push into North America, Six Senses will open up a resort in a renovated country estate at the confluence of the Allegheny and Clarion Rivers.
IHG’s Six Senses will open its first property in Pennsylvania in 2028, the Six Senses RiverStone Estate. I recently wrote about a new Six Senses coming to the Sea Islands of South Carolina and the brand’s larger growth plans for the next five years. This project caught my attention due to its unique location. Let’s dive in!
Six Senses RiverStone Estate
Located in the town of Foxburg – named for the Fox family, the original owners of the estate – The Six Senses RiverStone will sit approximately 90 miles north of Pittsburgh, 98 miles south of Erie, and about 120 miles east of Cleveland.

If you’re planning your visit in early February, it’s only about an hour to go see everyone’s favorite subterranean marmot – “Famous Phillip” over in Punxsutawney.

The resort will feature 77 rooms, and development plans also include 40 branded residences. True to the Six Senses ethos, cottage-style accommodations will cultivate a sense of place,
‘blending an off-grid vibe with all the luxurious amenities for a sound night’s sleep, offering space and seclusion whether under a canopy of trees or atop the riverbank.’ Speaking of rivers, the resort is set on over seven miles of riverfront, with over 50 miles of trails nearby, perfect for any nature enthusiast.

A giant Six Senses Spa (16,000 square feet) will feature prominently, and guests can stay active in the 4500 square foot fitness center. The resort’s pool will offer stunning views of the Allegheny River and the surrounding forest. Other amenities include an equestrian center (including a riding arena) and a farm, of which its resident chickens will produce fresh eggs daily for use in the resort’s dining program.
For dining, expect a true culinary experience. The resort’s farm will power the ‘farm to table’ experience at the main restaurant. There will also be smaller tasting bars and boutique food pop-ups. Made-in-house treats will include homemade ice cream and maple syrup sourced from the property’s 5,000+ maple trees.

My Take
This one is exciting. I’ve never given much thought to visiting this part of the country, but it’s a savvy move here. A destination that’s far enough away but also just a quick flight from several major cities (there are a few private landing strips nearby to the resort) allows folks to ‘let go’ and immerse into the wellness-focused experience the Six Senses is known for. I’d be very interested in learning what the pricing looks like. This one seems fun; thanks for reading!
