St. Regis Kapalua Bay to Debut in 2027, But Resort Bookable Through Marriott Now

tl;dr – This is a conversion of an existing property.

Marriott recently reached an agreement to bring The Resort at Kapalua Bay into its portfolio. The property will debut as a St. Regis in 2027. That said, the property has already joined Marriott Bonvoy as is bookable under its current name – The Resort at Kapalua Bay, Maui – right now.

Amenities include several pools, direct beach access, access to golf courses, and a massive spa.

I pulled a random rate for a Garden view King room in May, and it costs $1,752.

The property doesn’t appear to be accepting points reservations at this time.

The higher price point here feels like an attempt to position the upcoming St. Regis as a more luxurious option than the Ritz-Carlton Marriott has in the area.

Years ago, I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, and found it to be severely underwhelming. It kind of felt like a Florida shores resort – people were blaring boom boxes around the pool, had flown in with boat coolers, and it was not too far away from a Spring Break scene. That’s all well and fine, but also not something that I would have expected at a Ritz-Carlton. That was nearly a decade ago, so perhaps times have changed.

Needless to say, here’s hoping that The Resort at Kapalua Bay, Maui, while under The St. Regis brand, flourishes!
