Transferring Hyatt Points to Someone Else?: Tips for Making The Process a Speedy One

tl;dr – Simple tips that may help you get those points transferred faster.

Hyatt allows its members to transfer points to another member, once every 30 days, provided each participating member’s (in the transaction) World of Hyatt account is in good standing. To transfer points, you’ll need to complete (and both members must sign) and submit a Point Combining Request Form. There isn’t a fixed amount of time it takes to have Hyatt process your transfer request. I’ve heard of requests being processed as quickly as 24 hours and others taking a few weeks.

Here are a few quick tips (from my own experiences) that may help speed up the process:

  1. When emailing back in the completed form (to: combinepoints@hyatt.com), be sure to include in the subject line both the last names and WOH’s numbers of each member. This will make it a bit easier to identify in an inbox and query for. The sender (points transferer) should also cc the recipient’s email address – the same one they use for their WOH account.
  2. If you’re a Globalist, I’ve had success in also seeing the My Hyatt Concierge email address – “mhc@hyatt.com”.
  3. Finally, again – if you’re Globalist, a surefire way to speed things up is to simply dial up the My Hyatt Concierge team, AFTER you’ve completed and sent back the form, to POLITELY ask if they can process your request.

Though I’ve been a Globalist for a few years now (and have had very good success with 2) and 3)), when I’ve needed to transfer points in years when I wasn’t a Globalist, being a bit more organized and directed with my emails has resulted in my requests being processed faster.
