tl;dr – I’m following up with an update on the opening of this hotel and a reminder of how you can book it on the cheap.
The Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica opened last Tuesday, ahead of its most recent projected opening date of May 1st, 2025 (though admittedly, the opening of this hotel has been pushed back a few times). As such, I wanted to resurface this article I wrote about how you can book this hotel for a fraction of the points by playing the points game.
Rates have changed somewhat since I wrote the article, but the core concept is the same. 1) Find five consecutive nights of base-room level award availability. 2) Purchase the points you’ll need during a Hilton points sale. 3) Redeem those points, taking advantage of Hilton’s fourth night free.
Suppose you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, hoping to save some money while still enjoying a luxurious honeymoon after your wedding, or simply want to experience the jungle and rainforests of Costa Rica in a super upscale setting. In any of those cases, this is the perfect property for you.
