tl;dr – A new Colorado ski resort will join Hilton’s top luxury portfolio.
A few weeks ago, Hilton announced an exciting upcoming property in Colorado – The Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley. Scheduled for a 2028 opening, the resort will feature 132 keys and 105 one-to six-bedroom branded residences.

A ski-in, ski-out resort located 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), the property will offer “unobstructed views of Bald Mountain, Hail Peak, Park Peak and beyond.”

Amenities include 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art spa with treatment rooms, thermal features, and a snow room; fitness centers; ski valet and concierge services; a golf simulator; a kid’s room; an indoor lap pool; and a one-of-a-kind outdoor pool and hot tub cantilevered over the ski run below.”

For dining, there of course will be the Waldorf Astoria’s signature Peacock Alley, in addition to “numerous [other] restaurants, bars, and lounges.”

It is interesting that Hilton chose to go with the Waldorf Astoria brand here. It’s not that the property isn’t fitting for it; it sounds like it will be. Rather, there’s the existing Waldorf Astoria Park City nearby. And, the developers of Park City property, Wolfgramm, are allegedly having a bit of an issue with a Tapestry Collection property that was supposed to come to market years ago. Perhaps, Hilton has soured on them and has plots to either rebrand the Waldorf Park City (Conrad, maybe?) or leave both the Ascent Tapestry Collection project and the Waldorf Astoria Park City behind. Who knows?
