We Can Finally Get All the Mercedes-Benz Drivers Off the Roads By Sending Them to This New German Hotel

Source: Marriott

Tl;dr – Marriott welcomes to its Autograph Collection, DAS AFFALTERBACH, a hotel built in the remodeled villa of AMG founder Hans-Werner Aufrecht.

…at least temporarily. 😉 Luxury car enthusiasts will enjoy this one. Marriott recently welcomed a new hotel, DAS AFFALTERBACH (extra emphasis on all caps, and preferably said in an angry German accent), to its Autograph Collection. The hotel is steeped in history, as it was once the villa of automotive engineer and AMG co-founder Hans-Werner Aufrecht. AMG, which stands for Aufrecht, Melcher, and Großaspach, a subsidiary of Mercedes, is the famed performance division of the German auto manufacturer, known for high-performance vehicles with enhanced engines, aerodynamics, and driving capabilities. If you’re into luxury automobiles, car racing, or both, (I know little about either) you likely know it well. For racing fans, the acronym HWA may also sound familiar, as the HWA Team (HWA RACELAB) takes its name from Hans-Werner Aufrecht as well.

Ok, Let’s dive in!

DAS AFFALTERBACH

Located in Affalterbach, about 20 minutes away from Stuttgart, DAS AFFALTERBACH, while a bit of a walking museum itself, conveniently serves as a  “haven for luxury car enthusiasts to explore automotive history at nearby attractions like AMG’s engine factory, Porsche Museum, and Mercedes-Benz Museum.” The AMG factory is across the street.

While the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museums are each less than 30 minutes away.

There are 98 guestrooms and suites at the property, all of which are in a newly built structure. The original villa houses the hotel’s restaurants and wellness facilities.

Speaking of wellness facilities, guests can get right at a modern gym “equipped with TechnoGym [machines and weights], a yoga space, and an indoor pool, providing guests with a holistic experience of relaxation and rejuvenation.” There’s also a spa.

The dining story is a bit unclear. Marriott’s press release mentions a flagship restaurant and rooftop bar, although they appear not to be operational yet and are expected to open at some point this summer.

Rates are affordable. €120 can get you in the door on many nights, and you’ll need as few as 17,600 points for a redemption stay.

So yeah, please tell all the Mercedes drivers you know, and while you’re at it, share this with the BMW enthusiasts, too. Please don’t be shy.

Vroom. Vroom.
