Whew! – I Just Caught a Last Minute Posting Error that Could Have Prevented Me From Hyatt Globalist

tl;dr – PSA: Remember to Check Your Elite Night Credit Postings

A quick reminder for anyone pursuing status or elite milestones. Take a minute to review your accounts – particularly if you are hitting the exact number of nights needed for a given elite tier (75 nights for Titanium Elite on Marriott Bonvoy). I recently completed a four-night stay that would deliver me my 60th night on Hyatt to re-qualify for Globalist. The problem? The hotel made an error and only credited me for 3 nights.

Luckily, I was doing some points and miles housekeeping, caught this error, and promptly called the My Hyatt Concierge line to have them sort it out.

The customer service agent identified the error, credited the missing night, and nearly instantly, I received an email indicating that I had re-qualified for Globalist and notifying me of the Milestone Rewards I’d earned.

In all likelihood, given that I did properly qualify with 60 nights and that this was a clerical error, I’m sure if I waited to sort this out tomorrow, Hyatt’s team would sort it out just the way they did today. By why leave it to chance?

You never know what sort of customer service issues you can run into and the last thing I’d want to end up in is some longer-than-necessary ordeal.

If you are on or near the threshold for elite status qualification and assume ‘it is in the bag’, do yourself a quick favor and verify that it is!
