tl;dr – Congrats to the couple, but these are always so awkward.
A woman took to TikTok to showcase the time a wedding took place on board a flight she was on.
Now, this is far from the first time we’ve seen a wedding onboard a commercial flight. Exhibits A, B, and C.
Ok, I have many thoughts. First off, I am wondering if these two newlyweds are Southwest employees? Something makes me believe that this might be the case. I don’t know, maybe it was the “Just Married” airport buggy that awaited the newlyweds after the plane landed, with a quasi-Second Line ensuing?

If they are not Southwest employees, perhaps they originally met while sitting next to each other on a Southwest flight?
Honestly, this is clearly what this couple wanted, and so I’m happy for them. That said, I watched this video on the ground (not onboard a Boeing 737), from the comfort of a couch, long after these nuptials took place, and I had at least a little bit of second-hand embarrassment.
For all the other passengers here, it’s worth mentioning that there wasn’t really a ‘choice’ for all, right? I’m definitely the type of person who has no problem letting others have their day, but I also recognize that if you’re someone who doesn’t like weddings, you can’t exactly self-select out, open the emergency exit, and parachute to the ground, leaving a note for your seat neighbor in 28B to ‘send for your luggage’ later on. Your best bet is to bury your nose in a book you’re reading (notice I said book and not e-reader or Kindle for all you rat bastards), or turn the volume up on your headphones.
Lastly, the comments on this Reddit thread were super solid:
From Redditor ‘butt-barnacles’:
“Dude looks like an undercover air marshal who got in too deep”.
“All of you are invited to the wedding. Yeah no shit where am I going to go.”
– Redditor Regretted_Simian
“If anyone has any reason why these two should not be joined in marriage.”

In all seriousness, best of luck to the couple, but these in-flight weddings are definitely a bit awkward.
