tl;dr – The boutique nature-focused hotelier will open properties near the red rocks and one of the US’s most popular national parks.

Outbound Hotels, billed as a collection of lifestyle hotels and experiences in beautiful outdoor destinations, recently announced its two newest locations – Yosemite and Sedona. I included Outbound’s portfolio in this list of hybrid accommodation options that will get you closer to nature. Let’s dive in.

Outbound Yosemite

With 104 cabins and 14 lodge-style rooms, Outbound Yosemite will be located just 15 miles from the south gate of Yosemite National Park. Some rooms will be equipped with outdoor showers, and all guests will have access to the property’s pool and hot tub.

There will be one on-site restaurant, Juniper. This property is slated to open in early 2026.

Outbound Sedona

Outbound’s Sedona property is scheduled to open in mid-2026. When it does, you can expect the property to have 138 rooms (ranging from standard rooms to suites), all of which take inspiration in their design from Pueblo culture. Keeping with the desert theme, the Sedona property will have a spa and a lavish pool area called Moonwater. Guests will be able to stargaze and hang out by the firepits while splashing and relaxing.

My Thoughts

I’m a strong advocate for these hybrid accommodations near national parks and other popular outdoor destinations. For someone who is not a camper, these types of places can strike the right mix of “right outside the park’s entrance” and “the convenience of a hotel room and amenities.” I’ve stayed at Outbound’s Jackson Hole property, the Virginian Lodge, and found it to be decent. The setup is simple but comfortable – the property does a good job of providing amenities (pool, bonfires, lawn games) that allow you to relax during downtime, when you’re not exploring the nearby national parks.
