tl;dr – IHG’s launches a limited edition scent-powered alarm clock across select properties in Oceania and Southeast Asia.

We’re living in the future, folks. Do you remember the days when you’d awake to the sensuous aroma of someone cooking something slappin’ in the kitchen? Well, IHG wants to give you that same experience, except – who’s got the time to cook?

Last month, IHG launched the Holiday Inn Express Breakfast Alarm Clock – a new in-room device that helps to wake guests with the irresistible smell of breakfast.

Available at ‘Holiday Inn Express hotels across Australia and New Zealand, as well as participating hotels in Singapore, Thailand, and Japan, the device takes inspiration from one of the ‘wise-traveler-economic-brand’s’ calling cards – its free hot breakfast.

The device is a diffuser-style scent alarm, and guests can choose from different scents depending on where they’re staying. In Australia and New Zealand, there’s Coffee, Bacon, and Blueberry Muffin, and you’ll also have the choice of Nashi Pear in Japan, and Mango in Singapore and Thailand.

That’s all well and fine but are they gonna make a comparable investment in the…actual breakfast product? 😏
