tl;dr – This will be the luxury wellness hospitality brand’s first property in the Caribbean.

Equinox recently announced an ambitious new venture – Equinox Port Nimara,  a luxury resort in Anguilla.

Equinox – yes, the very same company with expensive gyms that your Amex Platinum has a coupon for – has been aggressively expanding its brand into full-scale hospitality, where everything is fair game. Though it’s still early in its mission for global lifestyle wellness domination, Equinox’s goal is to have its brand portfolio span across Fitness Club, Hotels + Resorts, Residential, Spas, and Office + Coworking offerings.

Located not too far from the popular Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Equinox Port Nimara will be helmed by a 118-berth marina, with its own ‘port of entry allowing for customs and immigration clearance.’ Each slot is capable of supporting watercraft upwards of 240 feet in length.

The resort itself will have 62 rooms and several branded residences, including 18 oceanfront villas, 18 upland villas, and 35 hillside homes.

The resort and surrounding compound will leave guests with no shortage of ‘to-dos’. ‘Guests will benefit from state-of-the-art amenities, including an Equinox Club, a vibrant all-day dining concept offering indulgently healthy food in a lively social scene, the award-winning The Spa by Equinox Hotels, and luxury shopping. A lively promenade filled with upscale restaurants and bars will connect the marina to the hotel amenities and nearby beach, creating a compelling and immersive experience.’

As far as its hotel portfolio goes, there’s the existing Equinox New York at Hudson Yards, a few planned properties in Saudi Arabia’s impending luxury hotel boom, a property destined for Nashville’s burgeoning luxury scene, and rumors of projects in cities like Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Chicago, and Miami.

The wellness-focused resort space is one that I see ballooning in the next several years, similar to how nature-focused-hybrid-accommodations is having its moment right now. Alongside Equinox, Kerzer International has its Siro brand, a fitness-focused hotel chain with large growth ambitions.

Siro currently operates two hotels – one in Dubai and the other in Montenegro – with announced projects destined for Miami, Cabo, Riyadh, and Tokyo.
