tl;dr – Fun fact: I was temporarily detained after returning from a 3-star Michelin meal at this country’s border with Germany.
Etihad Airways recently announced that it will begin flying to Luxembourg, making it the first carrier in the region to offer direct service to the European destination. The route will be operated by the A321LR, which notably offers First Suites, as well as lie-flat Business seats, in addition to a traditional economy cabin.

The route, which will go between Luxembourg Airport (LUX) and Abu Dhabi (AUH), is about a 9-hour flight, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy Etihad’s standout soft product.

Though I’ve never spent time in Luxembourg, I did pass through the country when coming back from a meal at 3-starred Michelin restaurant Victor’s Fine Dining by christian bau in Perl, Germany.

Located only 4 minutes from the border with Luxembourg,

our return transportation back to the Schloss Lieser (review upcoming),

took a route that crossed into the small European country before crossing back into Germany.

Along the way, we were stopped by some law enforcement who couldn’t seem to believe that we had just enjoyed a succulent chinese meal an elongated coursed meal, and that we were not in fact plotting some master crime. Street smarts!
