Vroom Vroom Spend $150 on Your Turo Rental and Get As Much as $30 Back

Source: Turo

Tl;dr – Turo (peer-to-peer) car rentals has live merchant offers with three banks – American Express, Chase, and Citi. You can receive up to $30 back on rentals of $150.

As a frequent traveler, I’m also a semi-regular car renter. I recently took advantage of a Chase offer with Turo, a peer-to-peer car rental platform, where I saved $30 on my rental reservation of $150. Though I used my Chase credit card to pay for my Turo Rental, I could have used one of my Citi credit cards or an Amex, as both banks offer similar merchant offers with Turo.

Here are the details of each respective offer:

Chase – $30 cash back when you spend $150 or more. (Expires May 23, 2025.)

American Express – Spend $150 or more, receive $30 back. (Expires May 31, 2025).

Citi – Earn $25 back on a purchase of $150 or more. (Expires June 30, 2025.)

Fun fact: I haven’t rented a car with Turo in over 10 years, when the company was called RelayRides. This was a different time, what I like to call “Pax Promo Codus”, when every startup flush with VC dollars willingly threw out ‘free money’ in the form of heavily couponed services. This ‘growth at all costs’ would result in some pretty wild discounting. Need to take an Uber from SFO to Big Sur? Sure, here’s 85% off your first ride, dropping your $385 trip to under 60 bucks. Forgot about cooking dinner, and need to figure out a meal quickly? No matter, a flashy new delivery company still figuring out what to call itself (but leaning towards Postmates) will get you a family-sized portion of Pad See Ew, Tom Yum, Spring Rolls, and Satay Skewers (cause don’t you deny Grandpa his Satay) for just $30. Don’t forget to tip Ally C!

Was this the long-fabled prince that was promised ‘trickle-down economics’? Welp, if you blinked, you missed it!

Naturally, I needed to ride in style for my triumphant return to pre-IPO land. I’m anything but a car person, but this Maserati Levante (including taxes and coverage) put me over the $150 threshold to hit the cashback, so I had to indulge.

Vroom Vroom.
