Tl;dr – Aman Group announced its latest project, a joint resort and residences property in the Bahamas.
Luxury hotel brand Aman just announced its latest project, and for North American-based travelers, it won’t be too far away. ‘Amancaya‘ will be a 400-acre development in Exuma, a district of the Bahamas known for its beautiful cays and crystal-clear water.

Pig Beach, a tourist attraction of questionable cleanliness where you can ‘swim with the pigs’, is located on Big Major Cay, an island in Exuma.

As with many Aman hotels, this will be a small property, just 36 rooms, though part of the project includes the development of residences. The property will be spread across two cays. (It’s not confirmed, but I believe the residences and resort footprint will sit on different cays.)
Meaning ‘peaceful island’ in the indigenous Taíno, Amancaya will have many of the usual refined amenities Aman loyalists have come to know, including an Aman Spa, Beach Club, and an array of signature and exclusive dining concepts.’

This property will be Aman’s second in the Lucayan Archipelago – Amanyara opened in 2006 in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos – a market that has recently seen a few notable luxury openings.
It’ll be interesting to see how this property is received once it debuts. Aman Hotels carry a hefty price tag, but the Bahamas’ proximity to the United States makes it easy for many North American-based travelers to get to. I’ll be watching to see if this property lives up to the hype!
