Tl;dr – The all-suites Laurus will join Marriott’s Luxury Collection Portfolio.
Earlier today, I wrote about Marriott’s debut of its splashy new Westin Hotel off the coast of Singapore. Soon, Bonvoy members will have another upscale offering to choose from, this time on the mainland. The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, Singapore, is scheduled to make its debut this coming October. Every room at this property is a suite, so there’s already a lot to be excited about. Let’s dive in.
The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, Singapore
Located on Sentosa Island, The Laurus is built in conjunction with Resorts World Sentosa. Offering ‘a gateway to the spectacular natural beauty of Sentosa Island,’ the Laurus is close to all the island’s many attractions, including ‘pristine beaches and lush forestry to exciting theme parks, such as Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium, and Sentosa Golf Club’.
The resort’s 183 suites look very sleek, as do the furnishings in the bar, restaurant, and common areas.

Boasting its own biodiverse sensory garden, The Laurus also has a large pool (with cabanas), fitness center, and spa.

Laurus Table serves as the resort’s main restaurant, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily. Guests can enjoy libations and bites at the Destination Bar and Lobby Lounge.

In addition to all the activities and entertainment located nearby, guests can also arrange unique experiences such as the S.E.A. Aquarium VIP Experience, scuba diving, and the AWARE Shark Conservation Speciality Course, where participants can swim alongside 12 different shark species in an open ocean habitat and shark seas habitat.
Rates start at S$1,043, which at the time of writing is approximately $808.23 (USD). Point rates appear to be blocked out for now.

My Take
I’m not a huge ‘resort’ person, but this property does look enticing. It will be interesting to see how it’s received, given the competitiveness of Singapore’s luxury hotel market. Just on Sentosa Island alone, there’s the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, The Barracks Sentosa, Raffles Sentosa, and Capella Singapore. In the heart of the city, there’s even more competition, including the Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Raffles Singapore, Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, The Fullerton, The Fullerton Bay, The St. Regis, Shangri-La Singapore, Fairmont, The Capitol Kempinski, The Singapore Edition, Artyzen, and Pan Pacific.

Not to mention a JW Marriott, two Conrad and two InterContinentals, a Grand Hyatt, Andaz, and a W. That said, I love me a Luxury Collection hotel, so I’m excited to see what comes of this one.
