Buy Leading Hotels of the World Points Leaders Club Points with a 100% Bonus

💡

Tl;dr – Leading Hotels of the World recently launched a points sale where you can purchase Leader Clubs points with a 100% bonus. You may want to research this one to see if it’s worth buying points to save money on a bucket list property you’re eyeing.

Through March 28, 2025, you can purchase Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) Leaders Club points with a 100% bonus. If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, Leading Hotels of the World is a marketing organization representing over 400 of the world’s finest luxury properties. I must admit I’ve long overlooked the Leaders Club program, as it isn’t a program you can easily milk for outsized value at a low cost to your wallet. That said, some fantastic luxury hotels are in the Leading Hotels of the World portfolio. If you’re flexible on travel and willing to spend some coin, you can save money off the best LHW member rate, sometimes thousands of dollars. Let’s jump into it!

Key Terms of the Points Sale

What Are Some Good Uses of Leader Clubs Points?

There are some decent values if you’re willing to search. Remember that Leader Club redemptions don’t typically net you the same type of outsized value you might enjoy when redeeming points for a luxury hotel at one of the ‘core four’ hotel chains. Most commonly, I’ve found the best deals landing at 20% savings off the lowest Leader Club member rate.

Let’s take a peek. If you’re a regular reader, you know I love points-safari and the increasing number of places to enjoy one. How about staying in a junior suite at the gorgeous Ngorongoro Lodge, Member of Melia Collection in Tanzania? You’ll have a front-row seat to all the Ngorongoro Crater offers.

I priced a random day in August 2025 and found the lowest cash rate at $5942. You could book that same room for 77,063 Leaders Club points. Let’s assume you’re starting from zero and must purchase all the points necessary for redemption. Well, during this point sale, that will cost you $4680, a difference of $1262 off the cash rate. If you’ll pay cash for this stay, why not save 21.2%?

Finally, it’s worth mentioning two things:

1) all Leaders Club rates (including points bookings) come with complimentary continental breakfast as well as higher upgrade priority onsite;

2) LHW is a transfer partner of Citi (albeit at a terrible ratio) so if purchasing points puts you ‘on the cusp’ of redemption but you’re still in need of a small handful of points, transferring ThankYou points is an option.

Conclusion

Leading Hotels of the World doesn’t get as much shine in the points and miles verse, but the program counts some of the best hotels in the world among its properties. If you’re planning a luxury stay at one of the LHW properties, do the math to determine whether it’s cheaper to buy and redeem points versus paying the full cash rate. You may save a little money!
