National/Enterprise Rental Car Status Match Deal

💡 tl;dr—Both National and Enterprise are offering status matches to over 40 different loyalty programs. Rental car status isn’t super rewarding, but this offer is low-hanging fruit on the vine!

Here’s a quick deal that can net you elite rental car status. Even if you don’t rent cars frequently, it should only take a few minutes to complete. Ok, let’s jump into it!

The Deal

You can request your status match here:

If you rent cars with National or Enterprise, you can now match your status to National’s Emerald Club or Enterprise Plus by submitting proof of the elite status you hold with another travel program (hotel, airline, or possibly other rental car company). This deal is quirky: it’s unclear when or if this offer ends, which loyalty programs (and which tiers within those programs) qualify, and which tier your status will match.

One thing we do know is that your newly attained National or Enterprise status will be valid for two years, as the terms reveal:

Submitting proof of your status is as simple as taking a screenshot (on desktop or mobile) of one of your loyalty accounts that shows your status tier. As a best practice (and for your privacy), be sure now to capture any information other than your name, account number, and status tier. I completed the Enterprise status match form using my Hyatt Globalist status, and within a few hours, I received an email indicating that I matched to Enterprise Plus Platinum. While Enterprise Plus benefits aren’t the most lavish, I rent with Enterprise occasionally, and provided the benefits are honored as advertised, I can get down with a complimentary one-class upgrade.

Throwback to that one time I received (though it was more pushed upon me) an upgrade to a BMW for my travelers from California’s Redwood National Park to Oregon’s Willamette Valley wine country.

Note: If you are new to either program (creating an account now to take advantage of this offer), you may need to wait a day or two before your new rental car account number is activated to take advantage of this offer. As I had just created a National account moments before submitting the status match form, I received the following error message.

In contrast a successful submission looks as follows:

Conclusion

Enterprise and National are offering a status match opportunity that’s easy to qualify for. It’s worth a few minutes of your time and could be helpful for your next road trip!
