tl;dr – The property will join Phoenix’s Palomar Hotel to become the second Kimpton location in Arizona.
IHG continues to grow its Kimpton brand both through new builds and conversions. I did a bit of sleuthing, and the UK-based hotel chain will convert an existing property – the Scottsdale Plaza Resort & Villas – into the Miralina Resort & Villas.

The property’s website already displays a “Kimpton Coming Soon” banner.

This will be a fairly large 400-room property, and it will include several common amenities you’d expect for a resort in Sun Valley.

Going off of the image gallery from the property’s website, I see a fitness center:

a few pools:

and tennis courts.

I saw language about a spa as well.
It’s unclear what the plans for dining are, though photos of the existing property do show there’s a sizable restaurant on site.

While the rooms look a bit dated, I’d be curious if, as part of the conversion, there’s a light remodel to modernize accommodations to be in line with the Kimpton’s lifestyle brand.
