Trailborn Pops Up on Marriott App as the Outdoor Brand Unveils its Newest Grand Canyon Location

💡

Tl;dr—Trailborn is set to open its newest location at the Grand Canyon, and it appears the outdoor brand’s partnership with Marriott will soon result in Trailborn hotels going live on Bonvoy.

Trailborn, an upstart hotel brand focused on hip-adventure forward accommodations near popular outdoorsy destinations, recently debuted its newest property, Trailborn Grand Canyon. I first wrote about Trailborn in this lengthier rundown covering some ‘hybrid accommodation options’ that will get you closer to nature. Last year, Trailborn inked a deal with Marriott where its properties would become bookable on the Bonvoy platform. Well, the fruits of that partnership are ripening, as all existing Trailborn locations are viewable on Marriott’s website. While you can’t yet book them through Marriott, these properties should ‘go live’ in a few months, if not a few weeks. Let’s jump into it!

Trailborn Grand Canyon

Trailborn Grand Canyon is located in Williams, Arizona, on historic Route 66. The hotel is less than 40 minutes for Flagstaff and just about an hour to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. For visitors who don’t plan to stay in Grand Canyon Village, this Trailborn property could offer the right mix of convenience, comfort, and versatility to make it a memorable pitstop on your road trip.

Trailborn Grand Canyon is a 96-key outfit that mixes Southwestern-themed king and queen rooms. Though it’s not yet open, the hotel’s main dining option will be Miss Kitty, a ‘bar & restaurant and dining hall’ whose splash page suggests you’ll be able to enjoy a solid porterhouse there.

There’s also The Market, a grab-and-go store offering snacks and sundries. Currently, guests must get their kicks (sorry) and fill in food from other dining options in Williams or the surrounding area.

The rooms exhibit a modern simplicity, like a renovated motel, playing heavily into the out-west-cowboy theme.

If you’re looking to make things easy on yourself, Trailborn Grand Canyon offers a whole host of experiences at the popular national park, such as guided Grand Canyon hikes and helicopter tours, and to other nearby attractions like Bearizona Wild Park and Sedona.

Onsite, guests can enjoy a seasonal outdoor pool and a year-round hot tub, which might make for great stargazing underneath the desert night sky. Other experiences and entertainment options include astrophotography and stargazing, bocce, biking riding, a cocktail-making class, scavenger hunts, and in-room camping for children.

While Marriott cash and redemption rates are unavailable, a one-night stay on a random March night will cost you less than $100 on other platforms. Those rates sharply increase to ~$160 in April, the start of the busy season.

All Trailborn Properties Viewable on Marriott

You can now search for and see all four existing Trailborn properties on Marriott’s website.

While rates for the properties through Marriott aren’t yet available, there is some indication that they’ll be fully live soon. For example, the Trailborn Surf & Sand is labeled as opening in April 2025.

Conclusion

Trailborn recently opened its newest location near the Grand Canyon. Soon, we should also see Trailborn’s portfolio bookable through Marriott. I’d love to know in the comments if you have your eyes on any of these properties!
