tl;dr – This will be Banyan Tree’s first resort in the Caribbean.

Singapore-based luxury hotel chain, Banyan Tree, will open an ambitious property in Bimini, the westernmost district of the Bahamas, located just 43 nautical miles east of Miami. Notably, the resort will feature overwater bungalows, which feature prominently in today’s Deals I’m Booking That You Should Too. Let’s dive in.

Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences

Featuring 50 keys, 28 (at least) of which should be overwater bungalows, and 54 residences, the Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences will be quite the production. Plans for the development include an 18-hole golf course and a nature preserve. Residences will come equipped with dockspace suitable for 80- to 120-foot yachts.

Bimini, if you’re unfamiliar, is a popular retreat for wealthy local-Miamians (that’s a strange word to type). In addition to watercraft arrivals, the resort can also be reached by helicopter, as it is a popular way for visitors to get to and from the island group.

The first few residences are allegedly expected to be ready by the end of 2025, which, if nothing else, is a positive sign for the project’s development progress. The Bonito Beach Club, an open-air restaurant and bar on-site, whose original location is in St. Barth’s, is already open to patrons.

Though it’s not owned by Accor, many Banyan Tree properties are bookable through Accor’s platform due to a partnership struck back in 2016. Thus, there is at least the possibility of this property being points-ready upon its debut in a few years.
